Shipping Information
*Shipping is possible in some situations, providing both seller and buyer agree on the terms and conditions (as set forth below) and prices for shipping the canaries.
Terms and Conditions for shipping
- The only legal way to ship canaries is via the airlines. The current shipping cost (subject to change) is $99 (per box), charged by the airline. Continental Airlines seems to be the most accommodating airlines when shipping pets, so this will be the airline we will use to ship your canaries.
- Only aircraft with the necessary "pressurized belly" can be used (according to airline officials) when shipping canaries. This also means that these types of aircraft must be the type of available aircraft that fly into your airport.
- There is a minimum order of $400 for canaries. An additional $15 charge is also needed for the shipping carton. There is a maximum of 12 canaries shipped, per carton.
- We have every confidence that your shipment of canaries will arrive safety, but we cannot guarantee live arrival. The reason is because once we deliver the canaries to the airport counter for processing, these little birds are out of our hands and thus, out of our control. This risk to you, the buyer, (slight as it may be) is something to be taken into consideration before making your decision to have your canaries shipped. No refunds will be given.
- The canaries that you request will be properly sexed to the best of our ability. Obviously, it is easy to sex a proven male or female, and really not too difficult to sex a canary when it is a few months old. If it turns out that the canary you receive is not the sex you had requested (or if a male is not singing), you have two weeks from the date of purchase to return it for a correctly sexed bird, providing that the returned bird is alive and in good health. Canaries being returned (and reordered) are at the buyer's expense.
- Payment is required (in full) before the birds are shipped. Money orders or cashiers checks are accepted. If you are picking up your canaries from our house, cash is the preferred method of payment.
*Please keep in mind that shipping is done as a special service for our customers. However, due to the costs, the risk of shipping and the limited times, dates and aircraft available to ship, it is not the preferred method. Picking up your bird(s) in person ensures the live acceptance of your canaries and of the exact bird(s) you choose.
