Welcome to New Song Canaries!
We are a hobbyist/breeder, primarily of Red Factor Canaries. We live here in Xenia, a town in southwestern Ohio, not far from Dayton, Springfield, Columbus, and Cincinnati. We have enjoyed this canary-breeding hobby for many years. Some of the more popular canary varieties we breed are the American Singers, Red Factors, Rose Ivory, Glosters, and Mosaics (red & white).
As a breeding project, we have worked for several years to produce our own line of "clear" yellow American Singers, free from any melanin (dark) coloring. Some other American Singer colors we have include the dominant white canary, which is a solid white bird (having only a trace of yellow on it's wings), the yellow-breasted (variegated) canary, and the "blue" canary.
Our goal is not simply to "breed" canaries, but to produce healthy canaries of excellent color, conformation, and beautiful song. Much time is spent daily endeavoring to give these little birds the best of care. Filtered water is provided fresh daily. The seed we feed to them (Abba 1700), we believe, is one of the best marketed. Fresh (thoroughly rinsed in cold water) greens are fed to them on a regular basis, as are vitamins and probiotics. The birdcages are routinely cleaned and are virtually spotless, and the drinking and eating containers are sterilized on a weekly basis. And, of course, these little birds get their regular bath times. The canaries we raise are all closed-banded, for proof of their age. We write these things not to boast, but to give you the assurance and information about how our canaries are cared for. As we would wish for ourselves, we want you, also, to have the knowledge and the peace of mind when it comes to making your purchasing decisions about canaries.
If you have any questions or if we can provide to you additional information, please feel free to contact us.
Please note: We will be happy to ship to you your canaries, but in most cases we believe it best for you (our customer) to come to our home to select and pick up your canaries. This ensures that you choose the birds you want and you will not have the concerns associated with shipping and of the safe arrival of your canaries. See shipping information for more details.
